Job Description

Great Show Productions is seeking Show Crew to support our Duty Managers on an exciting new experiential production set to captivate audiences in the heart of London.

The ideal candidate is a meticulous and proactive worker capable of conducting venue maintenance and safety checks. They will support the Duty Managers in maintaining the theatre, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our audience members and performers. During the show, they will also act as the eyes and ears of the Control Room Manager on the show floor and will attend any high priority incidents and relay updates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Venue Maintenance:
  • Support Venue Operations Manager and Duty Venue Managers with maintenance work and ensuring that all lights, heating, plumbing and HVAC systems are functioning effectively.
  • Monitor and report on maintenance issues and areas that need attention.
  • Be familiar with the location of stopcocks, gas meters and electricity meters.
Health and Safety:
  • Support the Venue Operations Manager and Duty Managers with venue safety checks.
  • Monitor venue health and safety and report any concerns to the Venue Operations Manager or Duty Managers.
  • Ensure fire escape routes are kept clear at all times.
  • Support Duty Managers during the show with pre-doors venue safety checks and post-show venue closing checks.
  • Take details and write incident reports for any near misses or accidents.
  • When required, call emergency services and act as first point of contact.
During Shows:
  • Act as the Control Room Manager’s presence in the audience/show area, relaying any issues or concerns to the Control Room Manager.
  • To be present during all high priority incidents (e.g. medical issue, ejections, etc) and relay updates to the Control Room Manager.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties instructed by the Duty Manager or Venue Operations Manager.
General Duties:
  • Restock Welfare areas.
  • Report areas missed by cleaning staff and ensure high standards of cleanliness.
  • Act as crew for Production Management, Venue Operations and Stage Management in movement of set items, runs and any other reasonable duties instructed by the Duty Manager or Venue Operations Manager.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Skills & Experience Required:
  • Experience of venue maintenance, preferably in an immersive or experiential production.
  • Strong organisational and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Resilience under pressure, with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations and emergencies.
  • Collaborative spirit, with a willingness to work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Flexibility with working hours, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and comfortable with manual handling.
Desirable, but not required:
  • Experience working with HVAC, Fire Panels, toilet maintenance and plumbing.
  • IPAF holder.
  • Fire Marshall Certification.
  • Health and Safety Certification.
  • Experience with overseeing large crowds.
